Boys Under-16
1st ACS(I) team 1 (18/20)
2nd ACS(I) team 2 (???)
3rd RI team 1 (???)
not so sure about the results...

there is so much to write about i don't know where to begin. well, here goes...

team lineup
1: lee wei cheng
2: joash ee
3: kyne wong
4: philip goh
r: clement lim

round 1: warmup
opponents: yishun town secondary
score: 4-0
highlights: all 6 ACS(I) teams win 4-0

round 2: cannibalism
opponents: ACS(I) team 3
score: 3-1
highlights: kyne loses on 3rd board. i win in 10 minutes (2-hour lunch break)
other results: RI wins 4-0, SJI wins 2.5-1.5

round 3: the upset
opponents: RI team 1
score: 3-1
highlights: brandon kwan is late by 6-7 minutes. in trying to compensate by playing quickly in the opening, he blunders a pawn. later on, he makes an interesting rook sac but i decline it and manage to win.
other results: wei cheng beats teo weixing after the latter blunders 2 rooks in 5 moves. whoa. joash draws with sean tan. clement, 5 min up and 2 pawns against samuel tho (who had a dangerous passed pawn) agrees a draw upon wei cheng's advice.
score: 10/12

round 4: consolidating
opps: SJI
score: 2.5-1.5
highlights: my strategy of exchanging everything and playing quickly pays off agains clifford tan. i flag him in an unclear knight endgame :D
other results: wei cheng beats gerald chan but joash loses to wee zhen chian after blundering away a won position. (after the round, he asked me to punch his stomach as hard as possible. wow.). clement draws with samuel tan after 10-15 moves.

round 5: anticlimax
opps: maris stella
score: 3.5-0.5
highlights: before the round we knew that 3.5 points would give us the championship. upon seeing the other three of us had won positions, joash agreed to a draw while the rest of us won. i was a bit lucky after escaping from a tricky opening situation
